My charity work sits alongside my leadership roles and reflects a simple belief: that businesses have a responsibility to support the communities they operate in. Much of this work is practical and local, focusing on organisations that make a direct difference to people’s daily lives.

Community Giving

Each year, through Iden Manor Nursing Home, we support a number of local charities and community groups. This has included the annual Iden Manor Community Award, which recognises and assists organisations delivering meaningful work in the area. Recent recipients have included The Staplehurst School PTA and Chalkdown Group Riding for the Disabled, both of which carry out important work supporting children and young people.

Local Involvement

Where possible, I contribute time and support to community initiatives that benefit residents, families and the wider village. This may take the form of advice, practical assistance or small partnerships with groups who rely on local backing to operate. The aim is straightforward: to strengthen the fabric of the community around us. Recent recipients include the local Dementia Café.

Company Commitment

I carry out much of my charitable work through Hoama Group, supporting organisations that reflect my values and focus on wellbeing, opportunity and inclusion. Working through the company means I can strengthen charities connected to our home, our families, our staff and the people we care for, keeping this work close to the community I’m part of. It is also important to me to encourage community partnerships and inter-generational connections, building links between our residents, local groups and the wider village.

Future Focus

As my projects grow, so will the range of charitable partnerships I will support. The intention is to expand this work, keeping it anchored in genuine need rather than scale. Whether through financial support or the contribution of time and expertise, the aim remains the same: to make a consistent and practical contribution to the community I connect with.
